Have Questions? We've Got Answers.

Welcome to our FAQs page where you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions.

Can Sheds 365 construct a building on site?

No, all of our buildings are delivered fully assembled to your site.  By building our products in a manufacturing environment, we are able to better control our costs and deliver a very high quality, durable building at an affordable price.

Can buildings be customized beyond the standard options that are offered?

As a general rule, most of our customization takes the form of our standard options.  However, if you have a request that cannot be addressed with our available options, we encourage you to call us with those specifications.  We can discuss the request with our builders and see if the modification is feasible and cost effective.

Will Sheds 365 do a site inspection?

If a site inspection is unavoidable, the Sheds 365 salesperson can assist in assessing the feasibility of safely placing the building.  Often times, a few simple questions will preclude the need for a special trip.

What type of building foundation is required?

All that is required is a reasonably flat (as opposed to level) area to place the building.  We will level the building to the existing terrain [at one end] up to 4”.  We do not need any additional foundation work such as gravel or concrete.  We can certainly place the buildings on these foundations; however, they are not required for a sound and durable installation.  In addition, we supply enough wood block to level the building up to 4”.  If the site requires the building to be raised more than 4” or if you simply wish for the building to be set higher, you will need to supply 4”x8”x16” solid concrete blocks for this purpose.  In addition, you may supply 4”x8”x16” or 4”x16”x16” solid concrete blocks to place under the building runners to maximize the footprint and minimize any settling that may occur.  The safe placement of the wood and/or concrete leveling blocks is at the sole discretion of the installer.

How can I reach someone at Sheds 365?

What is included in the “Installation”?

The installation includes a one-time placing and leveling of the building on site.

What should I do if the building settles?

The building will be properly leveled when it is installed, however, it is possible that the building will settle  over time.  Sheds 365 assumes no responsibility for leveling the building after the initial installation. However, for a fee, Sheds 365 will relevel the building. A relevel request can be made by contacting us here.

Will the Installer remove and replace obstacles such as step railings, fence posts, basketball goals etc. to facilitate the placement of the building on my property?

No, any necessary removal and/or replacement of obstacles on the site is the sole responsibility of the homeowner.

What is the delivery charge for a Sheds 365 building?

Free delivery is included in the price of the building within a 50 highway mile radius of the sales location. If the distance to your site is greater than 50 highway miles, there is a $5 per mile one-way charge for the additional miles.

Example: If you live 75 highway miles from our closest sales location, the delivery charge would be: 75 – 50 = 25 highway miles. 25 x $5 = $125 delivery fee.

Can I handle my own delivery if I have the equipment to move a building?

No. Due to liability issues, this is not an option.

Can a building be moved once it has been installed?

Yes. Simply submit a Move Quote Request here and a Customer Service Representative will contact you to discuss your request and provide a quote.

Will Sheds 365 remove an unwanted building from my property?

No. The installers are not equipped to remove buildings of any type.

Will Sheds 365 obtain the necessary permits for a specific locale?

Sheds 365 does not obtain building permits, conduct covenant searches or research deed and homeowner association restrictions.  All local code or building inspection requirements are the sole responsibility of the homeowner.

How sturdy are the floors in the Sheds 365 buildings?

The floors will easily handle heavy power equipment, motorcycles, bulk storage, lawn and garden equipment, sports equipment, etc. The Garage style has AdvanTech® flooring and is built with 2”x6” treated floor joists, set 12” on center. All other models have ProStruct® flooring and are built with 2”x6” treated floor joists, set 16” on center. In general, the Garages are not intended for regular in and out automobile traffic as one would customarily use an attached garage. If you plan on permanently storing an automobile, we recommend that you place one piece of 3/4”x 2’x 4’ plywood under each wheel for additional support.

Can a building be installed in an area where it is not possible for the truck and trailer combination to get close to the site?

Yes, with advance notice, the installer can unload the building from the trailer and maneuver it onto the site with specialized equipment.  The installer will discuss your specific needs when the delivery is scheduled.

If there are certain options that I do not want, will that reduce the price of the building?

Generally speaking, yes.  See the closest sales location for specific details.

How is the size determined on the buildings?

On 8’ and 10’ wide buildings, the building base determines the dimension. On 12’ or wider buildings, the roof edge determines the width. This is due to Department of Transportation regulations.

What size are the floor joists on the buildings?

All floor joists are pressure treated 2”x6” lumber.

What type flooring is used?

We use two different manufactured wood products depending on model, ProStruct® and AdvanTech®.  Both products are specifically manufactured for outdoor storage buildings and are designed to resist deterioration from moisture, insects or delamination.

Can I use a Tax Exempt certificate when purchasing a building?

Sales Tax Exemption certificates are not accepted for Rent-to-Own agreements. Rent-to-Own agreements can only be executed by individuals and individuals cannot hold a Sales Tax Exemption certificate.

Certain Sales Tax Exemption certificates can be accepted for retail sales. Rules vary by state and local taxing jurisdictions so, every sales tax exemption request must be submitted for approval before the transaction is finalized. Farm Tax Exemption certificates are not accepted.

How much side to side clearance does the installer need to move the building onto my property?

A good rule of thumb is the building width plus 1 foot on either side.  In other words, if you choose a 10 ft. wide building, we will require 12 ft. of clearance in order to place the building on the property.  If you have questions regarding the safe placement of a particular building, please contact your Sheds 365 dealer.

How much vertical clearance does the installer need to get the building onto the customer’s property?

Depending on the model you choose, the installer would need a minimum clearance between 12 to 15 feet.  Again, if you have questions regarding the safe placement of a particular building, please contact your Sheds 365 dealer for assistance.

Is my security deposit on a Rent-To-Own building refundable?

You will receive credit for a security deposit you paid at the beginning of your building rental contract if you pay the balance due on that contract any time during or at the end of the 36, 48 or 60 month term that was signed. If you forfeit the building due to non-payment or request that it be picked up before the end of the contract term, the security deposit will be applied to help offset the cost of retrieval and will not be returned to you.
